Accounting Analyst (m/w/d)

Job description
  • Post-Secondary Education in Business (Accounting/Finance) Working towards or completion of the CPA designation
  • Fluent in English
  • Permanent, Full-time

Reporting into the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for supporting the key pillars of Finance (AR/AP, Treasury, Month end, General Accounting etc.).

Ensure timely cash application of bank deposits and subsequent recording in SAP against the customer account

Liaise with Sales and Operations team on customer account enquiries and ensure sufficient backup and action is taken to recognize deductions

Provide relevant insights and reporting as required to Operations team (Shortages, damages etc.)

Proactively manage customer accounts/short pays and action accordingly

Determine reason for overdue balances at month end and provide course of action to mitigate AR risk


Assist with managing the AP Inbox and responding to vendor inquiries in a timely manner

Ensure invoices are sent out to the appropriate employees for approval and posted accurately in SAP

Review AP subledger to ensure vendors are paid on a timely basis and look for any irregularities

Execute weekly payment runs as required (CAD/USD etc.)


Audit and review SAP Concur reports to ensure accordance with travel & entertainment policy and coding guidelines

Prepare weekly and monthly bank account reconciliations

Process centralized billings and allocate to appropriate Distribution Partners on a weekly basis

Provide support for centralized dispute claims process and liaise with Distribution Partners to ensure they provide sufficient back up in support of the claim


Accurate posting of AP invoices to ensure recognized at month end

Process, prepare and post prepaid drawdowns

Posting journal entries as required

Complete Month End Account Reconciliations (E-Binder)

Support the Audit process (Q3/Q4)


Act as the key point of contact for Operations department and 3PL, freight and transport vendors

Handle inquiries from field staff, vendors, and third-party partners

Ad Hoc tasks, reporting and analysis, when requested

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business (Accounting/Finance) Working towards or completion of the CPA designation
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Analytical skills with high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • SAP or other ERP experience preferred
  • Knowledge of various commodity tax laws within Canada
