The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing accounting support to accounting managers and other managers within the Finance department.

What you will do:

  • Maintains accounting records by making copies; filing documents
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts;
  • Works with Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable/ Operations to have supporting documentation for journal entries;
  • Responds to inquiries and concerns from Branch and Regional Office personnel;
  • Works with internal and external auditors to provide documentation and explanation;
  • Retrieves system reports;
  • Performs related work as required;
  • Any adhoc requests as required.

What you will bring:

  • Post-Secondary education in an Accounting/Finance program
  • Preferred completion or working toward a recognized accounting designation
  • Strong analytical skills required with the ability to perform complex account reconciliations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and strong time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a team player with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual French/ English an asset.
