This position will provide direct administrative support to the IWBN Board of Directors and will serve as a membership-facing point of contact on behalf of our organization.

Tasks will include:

  • Filing and administrative duties for the organization
  • Research new funding and grant opportunities, and help draft/edit proposals
  • Plan and support meetings such as organizing travel, meeting space, meals, hotel bookings, and distribution of meeting packages for Board of Directors
  • Managing the organization’s social media
  • Curating digital resources off the internet related to entrepreneurship for women and sharing these in our monthly newsletters and on social media
  • Writing monthly newsletters
  • Event support at IWBN community events
  • Perform other related duties as required


  • Diploma or undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or college focused on business, administration, or communications and a minimum of two years’ experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Experience working in a non-profit office and team environment is considered an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


  • Demonstrated experience in basic bookkeeping, spreadsheets, records keeping, and business administration
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in using computers, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel
  • Experience with bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks is an asset
  • Experience in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and general business communication (e.g., writing emails, cover letters, memos) is an asset
  • Proficiency in using social media in a professional capacity (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) is an asset
  • Strong customer service aptitude, skills, and experience together with a genuine interest in working with patrons of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: $17.00 per hour
