Job description

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Femmes du Feu was co-founded by Lindsay Goodtimes and Holly Treddenick in 2003. Later in 2007, Sabrina Pringle became co-artistic director. In 2019 Femmes du Feu became a not-profit organization under the new name Femmes du Feu Creations (FdFC). In 2021 FdFC was granted official charitable status.

FdFC has 3 main missions: creation, education, and sector development in rural and urban communities in Ontario, with priority to the Niagara region. Our mandate is to remove barriers, increase inclusiveness and serve our community through professional artistic activities and experiences, helping to strengthen our local, regional and national community, and inspire and enhance it’s well being.

Our mission is to engage and inspire through artistic activities in circus and dance across diverse audiences and artists for happier and healthier lives.

FdFC continues creating and presenting circus works, researching innovative ways to combine its contemporary dance and choreographic backgrounds with contemporary circus. It continues to develop its vision for cross-discipline collaborations with artists across disciplines, combining contemporary circus/dance with artistic curiosity, risk and reflection.

FdFC programming includes:

  • Creation of live performances
  • Performances for various special events
  • Shows touring nationally and internationally
  • Residency Program at The Bank Art House
  • BAH Circus Camps
  • Teaching- senior teaching program + youth teaching at the Welland Community Centre

FdFC is committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from racialized persons, women, Indigenous people, persons with disabilities, S2LGBTQIA+ persons, and others who may contribute to furthering the organization and its programming.
