Communications Officer

Job description

This position delivers on corporate communications initiatives, working with the Chief Executive Officer and committees of the Board. It includes preparing member communications, preparing quarterly, and annual reports required by funding partners, assists with development of presentations for external parties and serves as the first point of contact for media organizations that are seeking an interview with the Spokesperson for the organization. It drafts and finalizes news releases with the Chief Executive Officer and prepares media briefing notes as required when media interviews have been confirmed.

This position also supports brand and destination reputation management in all marketing initiatives. Working with the Chief Marketing Officer and the Agency of Record, this position oversees completion of a variety of marketing content and materials, ensuring brand standard compliance, reputation management.

This position liaises with the Chief Marketing Officer and Agency of Record regarding the SpectacularNWT website, identifying and assisting in addressing content issues including editing content where applicable.

This position provides advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Marketing Officer when required, to assist in the successful management of stakeholder issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $72,000.00-$75,286.06 per year
