Job Description


As the Coordinator, General Merchandise you will be accountable for providing day-to-day and administrative support to the Merchant team across Retail and Online channels within their respective categories. The Coordinator supports with go-to-market preparation, sample management, data management, vendor communications, and ad-hoc business analysis reports. The Coordinator effectively communicates and engages cross functionally to gain support for execution of product category plans and objectives.

You will provide direct support to the Assistant Category Manager (ACM) and Category Manager (CM) in the execution and administration of activities associated with the following:

  • Responsible for data integrity and accuracy of article set up and maintenance for all SKUs (i.e. item creation and edit, price management, product attributes)
  • Assist the category management team in developing annual/seasonal strategies and product assortments
  • Act as support to the Assistant Category Managers in weekly sales review reporting, vendor performance reporting, store sales reporting, ad-hoc reporting, market research and other miscellaneous projects as needed
  • Responsible for processing adjustments to purchase orders and other inventory data tasks.
  • Responsible for entire Price Ticket process; including completing price ticket templates and price ticket scanning to check accuracy of data
  • Provide support to the online business, including maintenance of online product catalogue in collaboration with merchants and digital teams.
  • Organize samples, and ensure the orderliness of work space and storage
  • Manage product samples, including sample preparation for meetings/presentations/marketing submission
  • Participate in seasonal hindsight meeting by completing item recap report
  • Act as a point person for any store tasks related to merchandise with visual merchandising and retail operation teams (i.e. price change in stores, signage update, inventory check)
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field an asset
  • Professional experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Proficient and accurate typing abilities
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Customer focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time while delivering results
  • Strong organization skills with a high attention to detail
  • True belief in teamwork and ability to understand the impact of one’s actions on another team, individual or process
  • Works proficiently under condensed timelines
  • Self-sufficient and has a strong sense of initiative
  • A passion for the retail industry
