Position Overview

Title: Crisis Responder Coach - Part-time

Position: Part-time, Permanent - two PT positions available

Reports to: Manager, Community Crisis Responders

Location: Remote (Work from home role, must have reliable internet access)

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4hr shifts between 9am and 5pm ET - 20 hours/week

As a Crisis Responder Coach, your role is to ensure that volunteer crisis responders receive high quality support in a timely way during and after their training with Crisis Text Line powered by Kids Help Phone and that all Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for texting services are met or exceeded.

The Position

The Crisis Responder Coach provides feedback to crisis responders concerning their crisis intervention skills, develops and supervises volunteer performance in collaboration with community managers, and works with texting supervisors to ensure reliable, consistent, and well-rounded support for continued volunteer success and advancement.

What you’ll do

  • Lead cohorts of trainees through standardized crisis intervention training
  • Provide post-training support for volunteers via email and other written forums
  • Collaborate with the community team to develop continuing education opportunities related to the crisis responder training
  • Work closely with managers of community crisis responders to ensure service delivery model is understood and integrated by volunteers.

What You'll Need

  • A degree or diploma in teaching or a relevant applied social science
  • Minimum 1 year’ experience with teaching or coaching (using technology is preferred), and 1 year of related mental health or crisis intervention experience
  • Bilingualism (English + French) preferred
  • Preferred to possess an acceptable “Vulnerable Person Sector Criminal Reference Check” prior to starting employment.
