A Family Assistant position is available to provide a family weekly assistance with their young adult son’s support team. If you enjoy working with people, see yourself as a natural leader and community builder then this could be the position for you. This position will work closely with a family to support the coordination of supports and the implementation of planning and assist in managing the collaboration of a team to meet goals and objectives as directed by the family.
As a Family Assistant you will always possess mindful observation skills and pay attention to details. You listen deeply and are open to following directives from the parents. You work well independently and as part of a team. You have a strong willingness to learn and engage in planning. You communicate well and are a natural leader in inspiring others.
The Family Assistant will spend part of their weekly hours supporting the young man and getting to know him well. The family is seeking assistance with discussions, planning, and implementing of ideas to share and model with their sons support team. The Family Assistant will help with planning and running monthly team meetings and providing weekly updates to the team. Working along the side of the support team, you will build a trusting relationship with both the young man and his family.
Vulnerable sector police check and valid drivers’ licence is required for this position.
This position is Part-time. Some flexibility with a weekly schedule is required.
32-36 hours per week Monday-Friday (1 weekend per month) at an hourly rate of $27
This is a Self-employed Independent Support Worker position. This* position works directly with a family and all scheduling and training is family led.*
