Job description
  • Oversee health and safety program, according to COR specific and company specific needs
  • Review and develop the current safety program utilizing continuous improvement principles
  • Administer and manage documentation for COR program
  • Maintain statistics and records pertaining accidents, incidents and safety violations
  • Establish effective communications with all relevant parties the health and safety program as mandated
  • Conduct personnel and on-site safety meetings, tool box talks and monitor compliance of all employees and subcontractors
  • Develop site safety specific plans and procedures
  • Assist Project Manager, superintendents and management in all safety related inquiries
  • Maintain and update all workers and subcontractor training records, including organizing relevant training sessions
  • Ensure completion of all inspection reports by superintendents and keep record of all deficiencies
  • Liaise with management on matters pertaining to job sites impacted by health and safety issues
  • Conduct job hazard analysis for all job tasks and ensure development and implementation of safe work practices and procedures

  • + 4 year's experience as a health and safety professional in the construction industry
  • Must be certified COR internal auditor with demonstrated experience and knowledge of program
  • NCSO certification experience
  • Demonstrated experience in accident and incident investigation
  • Knowledge of local government legislation, health and safety acts, relevant policies, regulations and industry standards as they pertain to the construction industry
  • Valid driver's license is a must
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Adobe
  • Experience maintaining large database
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Attention to detail required
  • Leadership skills and adaptability required
