Folio Interior Design Group Inc. (O/A Folio Interiors) is an Interior Design and Design-Build company located in Mississauga, Ontario. We specialize in refurbishment of multi-residential condominium common areas, and we are growing again!

Folio’s goal is to ensure all projects are delivered on time, according to budget requirements and planned parameters with clients. We are looking for an Interior Designer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a niche to excel in and grow to a leadership role in the company.

The expectation from the Interior Designer is to assist in complex projects with minimal direction and oversight. The chosen candidate should have a well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of interior design, as well as a desire to share that knowledge with fellow team members. High-rise residential building design experience will be preferred.

As an Interior Designer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding client budget and scope of work
  • Understanding and interpreting client design needs
  • Learning and understanding how trades work with materials
  • Speaking with trades on site to understand application challenges and how to solve problems
  • Creating material specifications documents and I D Packages
  • Maintaining the office showroom - organizing samples, updating vendor books and chains
  • Assisting in creating work-back schedules
  • Assisting in creating tender packages
  • Assisting in preparing contract documentation for clients and vendors
  • Attending all design and coordination meetings
  • Preparing documents for closeout packages
  • Support estimating and project management team
  • Assisting in the preparation of design presentations electronically and physically
  • Working with the interior design team to create color and finish palettes, research finish materials and products
  • Coordinating with vendors to request and return sample materials
  • Liaising with material reps, manufacturers and other vendors to understand supply chain
  • Coordinating design submittals for review and approval
  • Assisting the Design team on special research and technical projects
  • Maintaining effective communication with all parties involved
  • Attending meetings with Reps, attending trade shows and watching seminars about the condo industry
  • Instructing the Interior Design Assistant and Interior Designer on required components
  • Preparing furniture specifications for orders
  • Selecting furniture fabrics and frames for design projects
  • Working with clients on furniture orders

  • A professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalent
  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and MS Office.
  • ARIDO certification
  • Preference to an applicant in Peel Region (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon)


  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license to visit sites and drop off and pick up samples
  • Work at our Mississauga office during working hours, Monday to Friday, plus after hours board meetings and occasional weekend trade shows

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55k to $65k annual salary based on skill set and experience.

Benefits: Team Bonus structure in place
