Position Summary:


Within the Marketing and Communications team, and reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing, the incumbent, under direction, supports the development and execution of consistent marketing strategies to strengthen Seneca College’s external and internal image, as well as supports its overall objectives and activities. The incumbent will work collaboratively to undertake marketing projects to support the department mission to grow enrolment and strengthen the Seneca brand.

Responsibilities:

Department Coordination and Support

  • Supports marketing priorities, providing input and implementing solutions and initiatives to achieve identified objectives.
  • Research marketing issues, opportunities and materials and provides recommendations.
  • Implements and coordinates strategic marketing and promotional activities.
  • Obtains estimates and monitors expenditure of budgeted funds.
  • Supports analyses and reports effectiveness of marketing activities.
  • Ensures all activities are on brand strategy.

Client and Project Support

  • Provides marketing communications and promotional services, and project manages marketing initiatives with internal and external service providers from concept through to completion to ensure quality, accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Participates in client consultations and provides input into marketing solutions.
  • With direction, contributes to the development of creative briefs for internal and external suppliers based on marketing priorities that lead to high quality creative work.
  • Provides input into the development of marketing communications copy and the development of creative concepts.
  • Works with the marketing team to establish critical dates and specifications of projects.
  • Assists in the monitoring of deadlines, budgets, and creative approach to ensure that marketing and brand goals are met.
  • Provides professional support and customer service to client groups throughout the College as required to ensure delivery of quality, accurate and consistent College messages in support of recruitment and enrolment objectives, and College customer service mandate.

Monitoring, Analysis and Recommendations

  • Evaluates project outcomes and supports market research and analyses.
  • Assists in the evaluation of outcomes per project to recommend further action.
  • Conducts competitive reviews to support the execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Leverages existing marketing surveys, research, and analyses to enhance marketing initiatives.
  • Supports college market research and analyses initiatives.
  • Provides analytical support including data gathering for campaign inputs and reporting.

Other Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Minimum three (3) year diploma/degree in Marketing or Communication is required. If education is in another field of study, please state how it is related.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ marketing experience in a marketing service organization or agency.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong interactive communications skillset.
  • Proven investigative, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a collaborative team environment. Has the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; the ability to work with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Familiarity with market research and database tools.
  • Proven ability to manage and complete projects to established budget and timelines.
  • Proficiency in word processing, Excel, and PowerPoint.
