Dufflet Pastries, a renowned Bakery Cafe in Toronto, is currently hiring for their retail location at 787 Queen St. W. We are seeking full-time and part-time team members. Come and be a part of the dynamic and vibrant Queen West neighborhood!

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage daily store operations, ensuring all products are well stocked and prep lists are being followed
  • Ensure customer orders are processed and inputted into system in a timely manner; track orders accordingly for pick up
  • Arrange courier services and third party pick-ups (i.e. Uber, Skip, etc.)
  • Calling customers to provide quotes on wedding cakes and other speciality items
  • Assist customers with questions and concerns; respond to customer phone calls/messages or email inquiries
  • Awareness of local market and retail area; support team to develop new customer opportunities and upsell product
  • Follow policies and procedures and complete administrative tasks competently
  • Manage store systems/processes to support sales goals and achieve operational guidelines
  • Maintain active communication with Manager/Assistant Manager to ensure familiarity with all special events, promotions or any ongoing maintenance issues
  • Monitor completion of daily and monthly checklists
  • Conduct inventory counts, completing necessary documentation
  • Awareness of internal contacts in emergency situations and respond accordingly as these arise
  • Maintain product availability; merchandising and ordering bakery/suppliers as directed
  • Abide by all health and safety protocols and required food handling procedures
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organization

Ideal applicants must have:

  • 2+ years retail sales experience
  • Excellent customer service skills; strong command of the English language
  • Able to multitask and make quick decisions
  • Positive attitude to be part of a winning team
  • Strong work ethic
  • Detail-oriented
  • Background in pastries and desserts is an asset as well as “Smart Serve” certified
  • Flexible work schedule; work Tuesday-Sundays (8:30 AM - 6:00 PM); able to work during holidays and weekends
  • Computer skills – Word, Excel, Touch screen cash register
