Muskoka Steamships features the 96 passenger historic steamship RMS Segwun, built in 1887 and North America's oldest operating Royal Mail Ship, as well as the stunning 216 passenger Wenonah II, built in 2002, and the Wanda III built in 1915. We are a charitable organization preserving the history of the steamship era in Muskoka with RMS Segwun as the crown jewel of our fleet.

Muskoka Steamships is hiring a stoker/oiler to work onboard RMS Segwun this summer.

Duties of the Stoker/Oiler Include:

• Stoking and maintaining the fire for the ship's boiler
• Monitoring steam pressure
• Oiling and lubricating mechanical parts
• Performing general maintenance
• Assisting Steam engineer
• Other duties as required

Must be comfortable working in confined spaces. Must be comfortable working in hot areas. Required to work with coal.

The ideal candidate would be mechanically inclined with some knowledge of steam power.

All staff hired ideally will be available from late May/early June to the mid November.

Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days. evenings. weekends, and holidays.

All positions require strong teamwork skills, ability to work under pressure, and dependability.

Training will be providing by employer.
